At this time (7.11.09) a venue for 2010 has not been selected. Locations under consideration are Falls Creek and Creswick.
The combined National and State Conferences went very well. The Bell City venue, the largest hotel in Melbourne, was booked out, with about 300 registrants. Although it was a little away from the centre, it was convenient for the airport for the many inter-State attendees.
It was hosted by RDAA, ACRRM, RDAV and RMFN. The political forums were well attended and included a session on rural specialists. Senator Fielding and Minister Snowden attended. With rural generalist training in full swing in Queensland, ACRRM is now looking much more solid, and the task is to gain uptake by other States. There is a new sense of confidence in the future for generalists to train and pursue careers. The CPD was felt by everybody to be of a very high standard.

The Rural Doctors Association of Australia (RDAA) is a national body representing the interests of rural medical practitioners right around Australia. Our vision is for excellent medical care for rural and remote communities. We are committed to building and maintaining a workforce of highly skilled and motivated rural medical practitioners. This requires adequate training and proper incentives, remuneration and support (both professional and personal). Formed in 1991, RDAA comprises the Rural Doctors Associations of each State and the Northern Territory. Members of these associations not only enjoy representation and other benefits at a state level, but also nationally.
